How many photos does it choose, and can I add my own?
It picks up to 240 of your best photos across the year and arranges them into a 48-page book for you. You are never locked in. Before you order you can swap any photo, adjust how it sits on the page, and add your own favourites.
How does it actually work?
The app looks through your camera roll on your phone and scores your photos, looking for faces and good moments. You then review the selection by swiping, swap or adjust anything you want, and the page layouts are designed for you automatically. There is nothing to lay out by hand.
What if I don't have many photos?
It works from around 30 photos, looks lovely with 50 or more, and really comes into its own once you have 150 or more across the year. If you are short in places, you can top up the book with your own favourites before you order.
I have loads of holiday photos. Will it just use those?
No. It deliberately spreads the selection across the whole year, so every day that has a photo gets a look in. Busier stretches like holidays will naturally bring a few more in, but the book stays balanced across your year. You can always add more from a favourite trip if you want to.
Can I choose more than one year?
You can capture a single year, or set a custom date range of up to two years. Either way the book is balanced across the whole period you choose.
Will it include landscapes and photos with no people?
Every photo in the book has a face in it. Scenery, landscapes and other shots without people are left out, so the book stays about your family rather than the view. If there is a particular one you love, you can still add it in by hand.
How much does it cost?
£39.99 for the hardcover book, with delivery included. There is no subscription and no hidden extras.
Can I order more than one copy?
Not at the moment. Each order is a single book. If you would love a copy for the grandparents too, a gift voucher is a lovely way to let them make their own.
How long does delivery take?
Your book is printed and delivered within 3 to 5 working days in the UK, with tracking included.
Does delivery cost extra?
No. Delivery is included in the £39.99 price.
What is the book like?
A soft matte, wipe-clean hardcover with your chosen title and colour on the front. It is 8x8 inches (20x20cm), 48 pages, printed on thick 170gsm silk paper. It is not lay-flat, but it opens easily and is sturdy enough for little hands to flick through. Small enough to drop through your letterbox and to sit upright on a shelf without lying it down.
Can I change the title or cover colour before I order?
Yes. You can change the title and pick a different cover colour at any point before you order, and preview exactly how it will look on the front.
Are my photos private?
Yes. All of the scoring and selection happens on your phone, and your photos never leave your device during analysis. Only the photos you choose for the final book are sent off to be printed.
Which phones does it work on?
The app is available now on iPhone. An Android version is on the way. Join the list and we will let you know the moment it lands.
Can I buy it as a gift?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available, so someone else can turn their own year into a book. They make a lovely present for grandparents and new parents.
